ROASTED SPLIT DALIA

Dalia is chana dal, husked, split, and roasted. The chana dal is roasted to give it a deeper taste and texture. Roasted chana dal has an earthy, nutty flavor. Dalia is usually blended into dishes and used as a thickener in chutneys and soups. They are extensively used in South Indian cooking from everything from condiments to curries.
